A systematic and collaborative approach to contain COVID-19 globally

A team of geographers that include International Geographical Union (IGU) Vice-President Bojie Fu, former Secretary-General Mike Meadows, and Chair of the IGU Commission on Geography for Future Earth Wenwu Zhao, have published a systematic summary of China’s experience in combatting the epidemic.

China’s approach integrates elements of coordination, classification, and collaboration (see Figure 1). The co-authors call for full cooperation within and between all countries as joint actions are required to contain COVID-19 globally.
